Browning Prototype

This ink on linen Colt engineering drawing is dated 1912, and shows the John Moses Browning prototype that would become the Colt Woodsman. The drawing was apparently reverse engineered from Browning's hand built prototype.

The pistol is on display at the Browning Museum in Ogden, Utah. With the help of the NRA I was granted permission by the museum to examine and photograph the prototype. The photos along the bottom of the case are part of the results. They correspond exactly to the drawing.
